My journey into construction began in 2015 while volunteering in the Calais refugee camp, where I helped to build and install simple timber shelters to provide people with safe places to sleep. This hands-on experience sparked a lasting passion for practical building, craftsmanship, and creating functional spaces.

Since then, I have continued to develop my skills through a range of specialist training programmes, including a Level 1 Build School course in the Republic of Ireland, an intensive carpentry course in Coventry, natural building techniques including wychert wall repair, natural insulation, render, and earthen floor construction in the South of England, and a short course in architectural drawing at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London.

Alongside my training, I have designed and helped to construct garden decking and raised beds for private clients, combining practical carpentry with thoughtful design.

I am currently undertaking a major renovation of my late-1700s wychert cottage, which includes a complete exterior re-render, the design and construction of a new patio, and the build of a large outdoor summerhouse.

My work is driven by a commitment to quality craftsmanship, sustainable building practices, and creating spaces that are both practical and beautiful.

Natural, historic, alternative and sustainable building, renovation and set-design resources in the UK

In October 2025, I created the ‘Natural, Historic, Alternative & 'Sustainable' Building, Renovation & Set Design in the UK Resource Map’ to bring together existing training, suppliers, practitioners, communities, networks and organisations who are working to make the built environment and set building in the UK Film & TV Industries more sustainable.
