Mairi Claire is a Dundee born Props Buyer and Set Decorator, working between London and Scotland.
Mairi Claire started working in the film industry in 2011 as a Set Dec trainee to feature films ''World War Z'', and ''Cloud Atlas'', whilst still studying for a BA (Hons) in Performance Costume Design from the University of Edinburgh, College of Art.
In 2018, Mairi Claire was awarded a Creative Skillset Training grant, where she learnt on the job training in the role of Set Decorator for high end TV drama.
Alongside her work in the film industry, Mairi Claire has an active interest in the circular economy - the concept of using waste materials as a resource. In the Summer of 2014, Mairi Claire was awarded a sponsorship to study an MSc in Environmental Management part time alongside her work in the film industry, which she completed in February 2018.
During these years of study, Mairi Claire has become a fellow of Cradle to Cradle innovation through her work for 'Fashion Positive' in San Fransisco, has worked for 'Drésd', an ethical set clearance company, in the U.K., and has volunteered for shelter building and furniture restoration projects in Calais refugee camp in 2015, for Khora Community Centre, Athens, in 2016, and in Aguada, Puerto Rico with Earthships Academy in 2019.
Today, Mairi Claire lives and works full time in London, as a Production Buyer and as an Assistant Set Decorator.
